Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this change happening?

WEX constantly strives to provide the best products and services for our customers. That’s why WEX created a new and improved fleet card program.

Do my new cards need to be activated?

No. Your new WEX Fleet cards arrive ready to use — no activation required. The new cards are ready to use with your existing driver ID numbers.

NOTE: If your current Driver ID number consists of all 9s, you have been assigned a new Driver ID number. Please refer to your Account Profile letter or online for that new number.

What are driver ID numbers?

For security purposes, your new cards require a Driver ID number to be entered for each transaction, like a PIN for a bank card. Driver ID numbers help protect you in case a card is lost or stolen, and also inform the detailed reporting you can access in your online account.

Will my account number change?

Yes. Your new account number is 13 digits long and begins with 0496. Your new account number can be found on your invoice.

Will I have a new payment address?

Yes, a new remit address for WEX Bank will be included with your new cards as well as on each new invoice that you receive. Update your business software accordingly.

WEX BANK
PO BOX 4337
Carol Steam, IL 60197-4337

Will my new account be invoiced separately?

Yes. Continue to pay any invoices associated with your old cards separately. Payment for these invoices must be sent to the old payment address. If you keep using your old cards, you will continue to receive separate invoices.

What should I do with my old cards?

Your old cards will be deactivated 60 days after the new cards arrive. Destroy all old cards as soon as possible by cutting them in half through the magnetic strip.

Will my reporting features change?

Your reporting package will include all of the same information as well as additional reporting for better insight into your account. Check cut your new reports here.

Can I manage my new account online?

Yes, once you receive your new cards and account information then you can register your new account online.

To register, visit go.wexonline.com and select “Enroll as a new user”. Once enrolled, you can add or delete cards and drivers, manage Driver IDs, make payments, choose online billing, download reports and more.

If you regularly used your online account, log in and follow the pop-up instructions.

Will my cards come with authorization limits?

Yes, all cards will come with the product authorization limits set to the WEX defaults:

  • 3 transactions per day per allowed product
  • $150 per transaction for fuel

You will be able to adjust these limits to fit your business needs using your online account.
